How do I connect my PubMed account to the library resources?

Answer

Save yourself time and money by connecting the library to your PubMed account!

The quickest way to access PubMed and connect to the Macdonald-Kelce Library resources is to use the library link: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?otool=flutmklib.

After you have created your account you can connect to The University of Tampa's Macdonald-Kelce Library resources following the steps below.

1. Click on your account in the top right. Pubmed login showing an account name.

2. Select "Dashboard" from the drop down menu. Pubmed login page showing account drop down with dashboard selected.

3. On the Dashboard, you can see your saved searches, recent search history, etc. Select "NCBI Site Preferences" from the top right. Pubmed login showing an account name.

The Preference page will allow you to set your account settings. You can set several items, but for now we will focus on connecting to the library resources.

4. Click on "Outside Tool"Pubmed site preference set up selecting outside tool.

5. This will open a page where you can search for "University of Tampa." When you find it, check it off. Your account is now connected to the "University of Tampa" Macdonald-Kelce Library resources.  Pubmed account set up selecting University of Tampa as an outside tool.

You can connect to any library where you have privileges to access their resources. Please note, just selecting a library does not mean you will automatically be able to access their resources. You MUST have an account with that organization. You only have to connect to your organizations one time, and then it is set for the life of your account or until you change it.
