Can I check out a laptop?

Yes. Laptops are available for students to borrow and may be checked out for 1 week.
Library Laptop Policies
Borrowing Procedures
- Eligible Users: Current UTampa students. Faculty and staff should contact IT.
- ID Required: UTampa Spartan card or photo ID.
- Checkout Period: One week, due one hour before closing.
- Non-renewable: You may return a laptop and check out another laptop if available.
- Availability: First come, first served. Not reservable
- Checkout Time: From opening until 30 minutes before closing.
- Data Storage: Save to external drives/cloud; laptop hard drives are cleared upon shutdown.
Fines and Liabilities
- Fines: $10 per day late fee. Damage, lost, or stolen fee $1500.
- Borrowers must adhere to the UTampa Acceptable Use Policy and the End User Network Equipment Policy.
Privacy Statement: Users of all public computers should be aware that it might be possible for third parties to obtain data from the computer's hard drive at a later date. The Macdonald-Kelce Library endorses the American Library Association's Policies on Confidentiality of Library Records and Personally Identifiable Information About Library Users. The Library will not release information about library users except as required by law, and only when served with a proper warrant or subpoena by law enforcement agents.
